If your organization is undergoing a change such as a merger, acquisition, or internal restructuring, you may find that your current AuditBoard site URL no longer accurately reflects your organization's identity or needs. AuditBoard offers a process to update your site's URL to accommodate these organizational changes.
When is a new AuditBoard Site URL needed?
The primary reason for requesting a new AuditBoard site URL is typically an organizational change, such as:
- Merger: When two companies merge and require a new, unified URL.
- Acquisition: When a company is acquired and needs to update the URL to reflect the new parent company.
- Rebranding or Name Change: When your organization changes its name and wishes to update its AuditBoard URL to match.
The request process
Changing your AuditBoard site URL is a critical action that requires coordination with our team to ensure a seamless transition and prevent any disruption to your service or data access.
The process to initiate this change is simple. Please have your Platform Administrator provide us with the following information:
What to include in your request
Please provide a brief explanation of the organizational change that necessitates this update.
To help us expedite your request, please include the following details in your initial email:
- Current URL: Your existing AuditBoard web address.
- Requested New URL: The specific domain name you would like to move to.
- Reason for Change: (for example, a corporate merger, rebranding, or similar reasons).
- Target Date: When you would like the new URL to become active.
Note: Please be sure to provide the information 3-4 weeks before your desired "go-live" date to allow for proper legal documentation and scheduling.
Important considerations
Changing your site URL involves more than just a name change - your organization must address these items to ensure your new URL works with your existing site functionality:
- Single Sign-On (SSO): Your IT team will likely need to update your Identity Provider (IdP) metadata to recognize the new URL.
- Integrations: Any active API connections or data exports will need to be updated with the new endpoint.
- Bookmarks and Links: Users will need to update their browser bookmarks, as the old URL will eventually be decommissioned.
- Communication: Plan a time to notify your internal users of the upcoming change to prevent login confusion.
