This article addresses the troubleshooting for when users aren't able to import test sheets. It covers the process of restoring or granting access to users so that they can import Excel sheets into the test sheets on Control Test Sections.
Ensure Users Can See the Test Sections
- Navigate to the Settings Module → Users & Roles → and then Roles & Permissions. Within the Roles & Permissions, click on the role for which users are not able to import test sheets.
- There are two, critical permissions needed to grant visibility to the Test Sections. First, the "Control: Can View" permission and the "Test: Can View" permission need to be set to "allow". This will grant users visibility to all controls and test sections within your AuditBoard site. If the "Control: Can View" permission is set to "deny", then users will not have access to the Test Sections since they can't view the control. Users must be able to view the controls in order to access the subsequent Test Sections.
- If the "Test: Can View" permission is set to "allow", then users should have visibility to all the Test Sections on the Controls that they can see. If the "Test: Can View" permission is set to "deny", then the permanent rules will be read to grant visibility to the test sections based on specific circumstances. Users can view those circumstances by clicking on the "View Rules" button directly to the right of the permission value column.
- For the "Test: Can View" permission, if it is set to "deny", then users with this role will only be able to view the test sections if they are assigned as a "Tester", "Reviewer", or "Secondary Reviewer" on that specific Test Section. Having visibility to the Test Section is necessary to have visibility to the Test Sheets.
- Once we have verified that the users have visibility to the Test Sections, we will search for the "Test Fields: Test Sheet" permission. This permission needs to be set to "edit" in order for users to have the ability to "check out" test sheets. The import test sheet functionality resides within the test sheets so this permission needs to be set to "edit" for users to import Excel test sheets.
- With the above two permissions — "Test: Can View" & "Test Fields: Test Sheet" — already enabled, the last permission needed for users to import excel sheets into the test sheets is the "Sheet: Can Import" permission. This permission needs to be set to "allow" in order for users to have the ability to import Excel sheets into the test sheets.
- With these permissions enabled, users should now be able to import Excel sheets inside the test sheets. First, the user needs to navigate to any control and open the affected test section. With the test section open, the user can "Check Out" the Test Sheet and click on "Import" to import an Excel sheet into the test sheet.
